Relocating to Calgary's Inner City

If you're looking for a condominium or house in Calgary's Inner City, there are a variety of choices and prices to choose from. The Sea Train is free within the downtown core and many places are within easy walking distance. The inner-city cycle track network is a great way to bring the entire city together and the Olympic Plaza is a common gathering area with a winter ice-skating rink and summer wading pool for the kids.

Calgary's Inner City has a variety of festivals such as the Big Taste Dining Festival, Sled Island, Cycle Palouoza, and Funny Fest just to name a few. The international Airport is just 30 minutes away and there are variety of transportation options from downtown.

Several major landmarks in downtown include Calgary Tower, Saddledome, Stampede Park the side of Calgary's world-famous exhibition and rodeo. There are several museums such as the Calgary Central Library, Bow Valley College, Chinese Cultural Centre, Glenbow Museum and Lougheed House, a training location built in 1891 restored in 2000 as a family residence, training centre for young women and a woman's military barracks.

City Centre is also home to multiple parks, gardens, the famous Olympic Plaza hosting free public events and festivals throughout the year. The Repsol Sports Centre is located near the stampede grounds just south of downtown and features a multi-sport facility with recreational and Olympic level athletes. It features two Olympic size swimming pools, dive tank, teaching pool, gyms, running tracks and fitness center.

Downtown is also ideal for walking and shopping including the famous Chinatown with unique artifacts covering over half a dozen blocks along Centre St., South. Barclay Parade is a pedestrian-friendly section of downtown that runs from the market to Stephen Avenue featuring high-end shops and restaurants. Stephen Avenue is one of Calgary's most famous streets declared a National Historic District by the Canadian government. It's lined with attractive architectural buildings and is a major venue for boutique shopping, pubs, and restaurants.
