About Chaparral Community

The community of Chaparral,Calgary was established in 1995 in the southeast quadrant of Calgary. This community went through tremendous growth in the early 2000s but remains primarily residential.

Chaparral, Calgary is bordered by the Bow River Valley to the east, Macleod Trail to the west, 194 Avenue SE to the south, and Highway 22 to the north. Chaparral, Calgary contains three subsections that are not officially recognized; Chaparral Lake, Chaparral Valley and Chaparral Ridge. Chaparral Ridge is located in Chaparral's northeast sector, overlooking Fish Creek Provincial Park.

Chapala Park, just to the east of Chaparral Lake has the community’s largest playground, two multi-purpose fields and a baseball diamond.

An Abundance of Sports Facilities

Chaparral's public parks have an ample amount of space dedicated to sports facilities so basketball courts, soccer fields, tennis courts and baseball fields are all easily accessible. For golfers, the Blue Devil Golf Club serves Chaparral residents with 18 holes on 200 acres of stunning scenery.
