Summer Camps in Calgary, Alberta
Summer is coming soon, and if you have kids you may be on the lookout for the best camps taking place in and near Calgary this year. Whether you are on the hunt for a months-long day camp, a quick overnight camp, or something else, you will be happy to hear about all of the choices you have this year. We've listed a few for you here!
Academic and STEM Camps
Code Ninjas
Campers ages 7 to 14 will love learning to code this summer at Code Ninjas. Kids can choose from Minecraft Create, 3D designing and print, Roblox coding, and more as the focus of their learning. This super fun camp may also help your child discover their dream job in one of the fastest growing job markets. The camps are weeklong, running all summer.
Mad Science of Southern Alberta
If you have a child who loves science, then Mad Science of Southern Alberta is the obvious choice for summer camp. At Mad Science, campers learn through exciting themes like Radical Robots, EUREKA! The Inventor's Camp, Crayola Imagine Arts Academy, Brixology with Lego Bricks, Jr. Mad Adventurers, and Mini Mad Scientists.
Overnight Camps
Camp Ecolart
Located in Banff, Camp Ecolart welcomes boys and girls ages 8 to 17 for an overnight outdoor adventure camp they will never forget. There are tons of activities for campers to try, including mountain biking, hiking, zip-lining, stand-up, paddleboarding, canoeing, and more!
Camp Impeesa
Just 2 hours south of Calgary, with bus transportation available, Camp Impeesa is a classic overnight summer camp perfect for kids who love outdoor adventure. Five or six night per week camps are available, where campers will have the opportunity to experience outdoor skills like canoeing, hiking, climbing, tomahawk throwing, and ziplining. Some weeks also feature horseback riding or mountain biking!
Sports Camps
Flying Squirrel
With two locations in Calgary, Flying Squirrel offers campers ages 4 to 14 the chance to learn all kinds of new trampoline skills at their full day, weeklong camps. Your child will love all of the trampoline-inspired group games and activities, from trampoline dodgeball to dunk competitions.
Calgary Aquabelles
If you have a daughter over the age of 6 who is a proficient swimmer, she may love spending her summer learning how to become a synchronized swimmer with the Calgary Aquabelles! Week long camps of both half and full days are available for anyone interested in trying out synchronized swimming for the first time or developing their synchronized swimming skills.
Okanagan Hockey Group
Campers ages 5-17 can develop their hockey skills this summer at Okanagan Hockey Group's weeklong camps. With an excellent reputation in the community and multiple NHL players affiliated with the program, it's the perfect place to develop your hockey skills during the summer. They have developed three streams of hockey training: development, advanced development, and specialty programs
Arts Camps
School of Rock
If you have an aspiring young musician in the family, School of Rock Calgary is the perfect place to sign up for summer camps. Campers work on various musical skills, tailored to their abilities and interests, with vocals, drums, guitar, bass, and keys.
Calgary's Young People's Theater
Calgary's Young People's Theater (CYPT) offers one and two week camps all summer long for ages 4-18. Campers will learn from professional theater experts at locations throughout the city, working on movement, improvisation, voice work, puppetry, stage combat, character work, and storytelling. This is a great way to improve as an actor, or explore the theater world for the first time.
