Bayview Houses for Sale
Bayview is a small community located in southwest Calgary along the shores of the Glenmore Reservoir. Although the land Bayview occupies was initially annexed to the city of Calgary in 1956, Bayview only became a residential neighbourhood in the late 1960s.
The Bayview real estate market was kicked off in 1968 by a single developer - Alcan Design Homes - that built many spacious, single-family homes with stunning views of the Glenmore Reservoir. The vast majority (94%) of the Bayview real estate market was built in the initial phase of development between the late 1960s and 1980.
Most Bayview homes for sale showcase the American colonial architectural style that influenced so much of the early construction, but the Bayview real estate market also has a number of single-family homes built in the Spanish, Tudor and modern architectural styles.
